Accessibility Statement

Athir is committed to making its behavioural intelligence-powered leadership assessment platform accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology, ability, or circumstance. Equitable access to our tools is a core obligation, not an optional consideration. This statement describes our conformance target, the measures we have implemented, our testing approach, known limitations, and how to report accessibility barriers.

1. Conformance Target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the Athir platform. This internationally recognised standard covers a wide range of recommendations for making web content more accessible, addressing visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments. We are working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our next conformance milestone.

2. Measures Implemented

  • Keyboard navigation: All core platform features, including the simulation inbox, form controls, and navigation, are fully operable via keyboard alone without requiring a mouse.
  • Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed to meet or exceed the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
  • Responsive design: The platform adapts to screen sizes from mobile to widescreen desktop and reflows correctly at up to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
  • Screen reader support: Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and descriptive link text are used throughout to ensure compatibility with assistive technologies including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
  • Focus visibility: Visible focus indicators are maintained on all interactive elements.

3. Testing Methodology

Accessibility is evaluated through a combination of automated and manual testing:

  • Automated scanning for WCAG conformance issues across key user journeys.
  • Manual keyboard-only walkthroughs of core flows including registration, assessment, and report review.
  • Screen reader testing across the assistive technology combinations listed below.
  • Accessibility review as a defined gate within every major platform release.

This statement is reviewed and updated at least annually, and whenever material changes are made to the platform that affect accessibility.

4. Known Limitations

While we work continuously to improve, we acknowledge the following known areas where full compliance is not yet achieved:

  • Live simulation environment: The timed, engine-generated email simulation interface includes dynamic content that may present challenges for some screen reader configurations. We are actively developing an accessible mode.
  • Data visualisations: Radar charts and competency score graphics include alt-text descriptions, but detailed tabular equivalents are not yet available in all views.
  • PDF reports: Auto-generated PDF reports are not currently structured for full screen reader accessibility. Accessible HTML versions may be requested as an alternative.

5. Assistive Technology Compatibility

We test our platform against the following assistive technologies and browser combinations:

  • NVDA with Chrome (Windows)
  • JAWS with Edge (Windows)
  • VoiceOver with Safari (macOS)
  • VoiceOver with Safari (iOS)
  • TalkBack with Chrome (Android)
  • Dragon NaturallySpeaking

6. Candidate Accommodations

We recognise that timed assessments may disadvantage candidates with certain disabilities. Athir provides the following accommodations upon request:

  • Extended time allowances for simulation completion.
  • Text-only mode removing visual complexity from the simulation interface.
  • Paused simulation mode allowing breaks without score penalty.
  • Accessible HTML versions of all assessment reports.

Accommodation requests should be submitted by the commissioning organisation through the Contact Us page before the assessment is scheduled.

7. Feedback and Reporting

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the Athir platform. If you encounter a barrier, please submit a report through the Contact Us page, including the page address and a brief description of the issue. We aim to respond within 5 business days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant national accessibility enforcement body in your jurisdiction.

8. Continuous Improvement and Review Cycle

Accessibility is not a project but a practice. We conduct accessibility audits as part of every major platform release, include accessibility requirements in our design system, and involve users with disabilities in usability testing. This statement is reviewed and updated at least annually, and the last-updated date above indicates the most recent revision.
